The Considered Cup:

a pinch pot ceramic class

June 30th, 2024
11am-1pm

Learn from Kristen Mounsey of Secret Meeting.

In this workshop, we will pinch cups and cups! Pinching cups with clay is endlessly therapeutic, and there are so many things you can make with just this simple technique. Using a white stoneware clay, we will meditate on the form and function of the humble cup.  After a demonstration, we will practice pinching exercises. We will consider which forms and techniques are best for daily and celebratory use.  This class encourages practicing technique as well as experimentation with pushing the boundaries of the material, stylistically and functionally.  With trial and error, playfulness, and with conversation within the group, each participant can expect to complete a set of two similarly sized and shaped greenware clay cups.

Firing, glazing and pickup options are available at an additional fee. Please inquire on arrival.

Some prior experience with clay is useful but not necessary. Ages 12+

This course is valued at $150. All courses are pay-what-you can afford; we suggest a range of $25-$250.
